We serve our veterans, the military, and the East Tennessee community through advocacy, programs, and services that enhance the lives of all veterans and their families in the greater Knoxville area.

How do I join VFW Post 1733?

To join VFW Post 1733, you must be a U.S. citizen who served honorably in the Armed Forces and received a campaign medal for overseas service. Contact our Quartermaster Carl E. Bowers at (865) 622-1257 or visit us during our monthly meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM.

What types of memberships are available?

We offer several membership types: Annual membership, Life membership (based on age), and Legacy Life membership. We also have an Auxiliary for spouses, widows, and family members of eligible veterans. Contact us for current membership rates and benefits.

Can I visit the post without being a member?

Yes! We welcome visitors to our post home and encourage prospective members to attend our monthly meetings. Our meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at our Magnolia Avenue location. Feel free to come and learn more about what we do.

What services does VFW Post 1733 provide?

We provide veteran advocacy, assistance with VA claims, community service programs, scholarship opportunities, and support for military families. We also host social events, fundraisers, and participate in patriotic ceremonies throughout East Tennessee.

How can I get help with my VA benefits?

Our trained service officers can assist with VA benefit claims, appeals, and questions. Contact Commander Michael Hamman at (619) 549-7658 or visit during our meeting times. We provide this service free of charge to all veterans, regardless of membership status.

Does the post have rental facilities?
